1st Reading: A reading from the Acts of the Apostles 14:21-27
They gave an account to the church of all that God had done with them.
Paul and Barnabas went back through Lystra and Iconium to Antioch. They put fresh heart into the disciples, encouraging them to persevere in the faith. ‘We all have to experience many hardships’ they said ‘before we enter the kingdom of God.’ In each of these churches they appointed elders, and with prayer and fasting they commended them to the Lord in whom they had come to believe.
They passed through Pisidia and reached Pamphlia. Then after proclaiming the word at Perga they went down to Attalia and from there sailed for Antioch, where they had originally been commended to the grace of God for the work they had now completed. On their arrival they assembled the church and gave an account of all that God had done with them, and how he had opened the door of faith to the pagans.
This is the word of the Lord.

Med: Guide me
1. Guide me O thou great redeemer / pilgrim thru this barren land
I am weak but thou art Might / hold me with thy powerful hand
Bread of Heaven x2 / Feed me now and ever more x2

2. Open now that crystal fountain / where the healing steam doth flow
Let the fire and cloudy pillar / lead me all my journey thru
Strong deliverer x2 / Be thou still my strength and shield x2

3. When I tread the verge of Jordan / bid my anxious fears subside
Death of death and hells destruction / land me safe to Canan’s side
Song of praises x2 / I will ever give to thee.

2nd Reading: A reading from the book of the Apocalypse 21:1-5
God will wipe away all tears from their eyes.
I, John, saw a new heaven and a new earth; the first heaven and the first earth had disappeared now, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the holy city, and the new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, as beautiful as a bride all dressed for her husband. Then I heard a loud voice call from the throne, ‘You see this city? Here God lives among men. He will make his home among them; they shall be his people, and he will be their God; his name is God –with-them. He will wipe away all tears from their eyes; there will be no more death, and no more mourning or sadness. The world of the past has gone.’ Then the One sitting on the throne spoke: ‘Now I am making the whole of creation new’.
This is the word of the Lord.

Gospel Acclamation: Yezu Omwana wa Katonda…….

Gospel: A reading from the holy Gospel according to John 13:31-35
I give you a new commandment: love one another.
When Judas had gone Jesus said:
‘Now has the Son of Man been glorified, and in him God has been glorified. If God has been glorified in him, God will in turn glorify him in himself, and will glorify him soon. My little children, I shall not be with you much longer. I give you a new commandment: love one another; just as I have loved you, you also must love one another. By this love you have for one another, everyone will know that you are my disciples.’
This is the Gospel of the Lord.

Credo: Profession of Faith
We believe in one God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is seen and unseen. We believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father.
Through Him all things were made, for us men and for our salvation, He came down from heaven
(all bow) by the power of the Holy Spirit, He became incarnate from the Virgin Mary and was made man.
For our sake, He was crucified under Pontius Pilate; He suffered death and was buried.

On the third day He rose again in accordance with the scriptures; He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and His Kingdom will have no end. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son. With the Father and the Son He is worshiped and glorified.
He has spoken through the prophets. We believe in one holy Catholic and Apostolic Church.
We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come, AMEN.

1st Reading: A reading from the Acts of the Apostles 5:12-16
The numbers of men and women who came to believe in the Lord increased steadily.
The faithful all used to meet by common consent in the Portico of Solomon. No one else ever dared to join them, but the people were loud in their praise and the numbers of men and women who came to believe in the Lord increased steadily. So many signs and wonders were worked among the people at the hands of the apostles that the sick were even taken out into the streets and laid on beds and sleeping-mats in the hope that at least the shadow of Peter might fall across some of them as he went past. People even came crowding in from the towns round about Jerusalem, bringing with them their sick and those tormented by unclean spirits, and all of them were cured.
This is the word of the Lord.

Med: Azukidde….

2nd Reading: A reading from the book of the Apocalypse 1:9-13, 17-19
I was dead and now I am to live for ever and ever.
My name is John, and through our union in Jesus I am your brother and share your sufferings, your kingdom, and all you endure. I was on the island of Patmos for having preached God's word and witnessed for Jesus; it was the Lord's day and the Spirit possessed me, and I heard a voice behind me, shouting like a trumpet, 'Write down all that you see in a book.' I turned round to see who had spoken to me, and when I turned I saw seven golden lamp-stands and, surrounded by them, a figure like a Son of man, dressed in a long robe tied at the waist with a golden girdle.
When I saw him, I fell in a dead faint at his feet, but he touched me with his right hand and said, 'Do not be afraid; it is I, the First and the Last; I am the Living One. 1 was dead and now 1 am to live for ever and ever, and I hold the keys of death and of the underworld. Now write down all that you see of present happenings and things that are still to come.'
This is the word of the Lord.

Gospel Acclamation: ( Good news today)….

Gospel: A reading from the holy Gospel according to John 20: 19-31
Eight days later, Jesus came.
In the evening of that same day, the first day of the week, the doors were closed in the room where the disciples were, for fear of the Jews. Jesus came and stood among them. He said to them, 'Peace be with you,' and showed them his hands and his side. The disciples were filled with joy when they saw the Lord, and he said to them again, 'Peace be with you.
'As the Father sent me, so am I sending you.' After saying this he breathed on them and said: 'Receive the Holy Spirit. For those whose sins you forgive, they are forgiven; for those whose sins you retain, they are retained.'
Thomas, called the Twin, who was one of the Twelve, was not with them when Jesus came. When the disciples said, 'We have seen the Lord', he answered, 'Unless I see the holes that the nails made in his hands and can put my finger into the holes they made, and unless I can put my hand into his side, I refuse to believe.' Eight days later the disciples were in the house again and Thomas was with them. The doors were closed, but Jesus came in and stood among them. 'Peace be with you' he said. Then he spoke to Thomas, 'Put your finger here; look, here are my hands. Give me your hand; put it into my side. Doubt no longer but believe.' Thomas replied, 'My Lord and my God!' Jesus said to him: 'You believe because you can see me. Happy are those who have not seen and yet believe.'
There were many other signs that Jesus worked and the disciples saw, but they are not recorded in this book. These are recorded so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing this you may have life through his name.
This is the Gospel of the Lord.

1st Reading: A reading from the Acts of the Apostles 10:34, 37-43
We have eaten and drunk with him after the resurrection.
Peter addressed Cornelius and his household: ‘You must have heard about the recent happenings in Judea; about Jesus of Nazareth and how he begun in Galilee, after John had been preaching baptism. God had anointed him with the Holy Spirit and with power, and because God was with him, Jesus went about doing good and curing all who had fallen into the power of the devil. Now I, and those with me, can witness to everything he did throughout the countryside of Judea and in Jerusalem itself: and also to the fact that they killed him by hanging him on a tree, yet three days afterwards God raised him to life and allowed him to be seen, not by the whole people but only by certain witnesses – we have eaten and drunk with him after his resurrection from the dead – and he has ordered us to proclaim this to his people and to tell them that God has appointed him to judge

meveryone, alive or dead. It is to him that all the prophets bear this witness; that all who believe in Jesus will have their sins forgiven through his name.’
This is the word of the Lord.

Med: Low in the grave He lay
1. Low in the grave he lay, Jesus my Saviour / waiting the coming day, Jesus my Lord.
Up from the grave he arose as the victor over all his foes;
He arose in triumph from the dark domain, and he lives for ever with his saints to reign
He arose, he arose, Alleluia – Christ arose!
2. Vainly they guard his bed, Jesus my Saviour; / vainly they seal the dead, Jesus my Lord!
Up from the Grave he arose ………….
3. Death cannot keep his prey, Jesus my Saviour; / He tore the bars away, Jesus my Lord!
Up from the grave he arose ……………

2nd Reading: A reading from the letter of St Paul to the Colossians 3:1-21
You must look for the things that are in heaven, where Christ is.
Since you have been brought back to true life with Christ, you must look for the things that are in heaven, where Christ is, sitting at God’s right hand. Let your thoughts be on heavenly things, not on the things that are on the earth, because you have died, and now the life you have is hidden with Christ in God. But when Christ is revealed – and he is your life – you too will be revealed in all your glory with him.
This is the word of the Lord.

Gospel Acclamation: ( Mix)….

Gospel: A reading from the holy Gospel according to John 20: 1-9
He must rise from the dead.
It was very early on the first day of the week and still dark, when Mary of Magdala came to the tomb. She saw that the stone had been moved away from the tomb and came running to Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one Jesus loved. ‘They have taken the Lord out of the tomb’ she said ‘and we don’t know where they have put him.’
So Peter set out with the other disciple to go to the tomb. They ran together, but the other disciple, running faster than Peter, reached the tomb first; he bent down and saw the linen cloths lying on the ground, but did not go in. Simon Peter who was following now came up, went right into the tomb, saw the linen cloths on the ground, and also the cloth that had been over his head; this was not with the linen cloths but rolled up in a place by itself. Then the other disciple who had reached the tomb first also went in; he saw and he believed. Till this moment they had failed to understand the teaching of scripture. That he must rise from the dead.
This is the Gospel of the Lord.
